One reason I'm not a Democrat

Hypocrisy

From the Democratic Party Platform:

“We believe that Standing up for our country means standing up against sexism and all intolerance. Demeaning portrayals of women cheapen our debates, dampen the dreams of our daughters, and deny us the contributions of too many. Responsibility lies with us all.”

What it should say is:

“We believe that Standing up for our country means standing up against sexism and all intolerance against liberals. Demeaning portrayals of women in our party cheapen our debates, but is hilarious when used against Sarah Palin. They dampen the dreams of our left wing daughters, and deny us the contributions of too many lesbians. Responsibility lies with us all to destroy Sarah Palin whatever the cost. We absolutely can’t let the first woman vice president be a republican. Not after all the work we’ve done for the cause. It, just not fair. We can’t. We can’t! Can’t, can’t can’t!!

One reason why I'm not a Republican

A plank supporting the prohibition of online gambling, briefly removed from the Republican platform at the behest of the Poker Players Alliance (PPA), has been restored to placate social conservatives. The plank, which appeared in the 2000 and 2004 GOP platforms, reads:

Millions of Americans suffer from problem or pathological gambling that can destroy families. We support legislation prohibiting gambling over the Internet or in student athletics by student athletes who are participating in competitive sports.

First of all, it’s written horribly. Secondly, I don’t need a nanny-government to help me not gamble. Do you?

mudwerks:nath:Oktapodi is an impressive 3D short animated film about a pair of octopus lovers ripped apart and how they have to overcome adversity to reunite. Not only the plot is quite entertaining as the best shorts from Pixar but the story takes place in Santorini, Greece, a beautiful eye-filling setting. Created as a graduation project by the students of the renowned french school Gobelins.

The Wall Street Bailout

$1 trillion dollars

Such a number is hard to conceptualize if you’re not the government. So, in order to show you just how much $1 trillion dollars really is, I’ve put together these figures:

One trillion dollars ($1,000,000,000,000) is enough money:

This is how much the government is going to cost you (roughly $3,278 for every man, woman and child in the United States). And, you probably heard both Barack Obama and John McCain say that this bailout was necessary, and good for the economy. Barack Obama is for it. John McCain is for it. Well of course they’re for it. Where do you think their own personal money is tied up? In Wall Street, you dopes. They want to remove risk from the equation. I believe it is the death knell of our free market economy. The most important people in our government are going to hand $700,000,000,000 (to start) of our money to ONE MAN to hand out as he pleases, with virtually no oversight for one simple reason. He will use it to protect THEIR investments.

If the Federal Reserve can spend as much money as it desires to bail out any company that it desires, is there anything that it cannot do with taxpayer funds? When they took risks and won, they kept their profits. When they took risks and lost the tax payers are bailing them out. We must stop bailouts forever. The congress is already hooked on them like junkies mainlining on heroin. It has already been the defacto solution for anything that threatens the economy. The economy has been artifically inflated since the Savings and Loan bailout and it seems the fed and congress will do WHATEVER it takes to keep it so. It’s a house of cards.

Wake up friends. Neither of the major parties has your interest at heart. And anything they’ve promised they’ll do if they get elected? It’s out the window. This finacial disaster collapse trumps all. Whoever gets elected, this will be their only agenda. Their entire first term at least will be spent trying to work this pig through the python. Forget about universal healthcare and jobs programs and hiring new border control. THERE’S NO MONEY LEFT.

Here’s an idea. Throw them out! Elect someone else. Join a third party. When people complain about you throwing your vote away flip them the bird. If we all vote for one of two parties, we will only ever have two choices. I have been voting a third party candidate for years, and I’ll never go back. But if you want to stay a democrat and blame every issue on the republicans or if you are a republican and are content to blame the democrats for everything you think is wrong…well, go ahead. I am done with those two parties. In my opinion, they are basically in collusion to share the power and protect their wealthy friends. Take a stand. Move on.

Pant…pant…but what do I know? I’m just some clown with a blog.
